Will Sorcerer's Hydra Skill In Diablo 4 Season 9 PTR Continue To Be Strong Or Adjusted?

Diablo 4 Season 9 PTR is now open, and Sorcerer’s Hydra skill is very strong, which can summon a Hydra to cause damage to the enemy.

This skill shows amazing strength, and it is easy to deal with groups of enemies or single bosses like Burning Souls.

And this makes Sorcerer’s performance in Torment 4 difficulty also very easy.

Will Sorcerer's Hydra Skill In Diablo 4 Season 9 Continue To Be Strong Or Adjusted?

Advantages

Hydra skills can easily restrict actions and cause high range damage when fighting groups of enemies.

Some people may worry about her Mana consumption speed. If Mana is consumed, she can no longer release skills.

However, judging from the current performance in PTR season, there is no need to worry about this. Whether it is the frequency of her skill release and the consumption of Mana, this is a character with strong endurance.

And we didn’t even equip her with a proper gear, just summoning Hydra and attacking on her own, even against Uber boss in Torment 4, she could easily defeat it in a few seconds.

It’s clear that this change makes Sorcerer very strong in PTR, and it may be easy to fight at Pit Tier 90 or even higher difficulty in the future.

Build

Here is just some simple equipment that can reduce CD of Sorcerer’s skills.

  • Harlequin Crest
  • Shroud of False Death
  • Sidhe Bindings
  • Tibault’s Will
  • Warlord Boots of Orange Herald
  • Brilliance
  • Ophidian Iris
  • Tal Rasha’s Iridescent
  • Ring of Starless Skies

All of these equipments can be obtained by farming the map, defeating bosses, completing quests, or getting them from merchants for Diablo 4 Gold. These equipments can speed up her skill cooldown and make her skills release more frequently, thereby maximizing her damage.

For Skill Tree, mainly light up some nodes that can enhance and auxiliary damage.

  • Enlightenment
  • Esu’s Fcrocity
  • Inferno
  • Devouring Blaze
  • Lightning Spear
  • Invoked Lightning Spear
  • Fireball
  • Teleport
  • Ice Blades
  • Hydra
  • Invoked Hydra

Lighting up these skills can further enhance the damage of Hydra skills and assist the skill effects. At present, there is no perfect build method, because this skill is very strong, and this is only in PTR stage. After the official update of Season 9, a more suitable build will be re-studied.

Will It Be Adjusted?

Obviously, the changes in Hydra skills make Sorcerer’s performance in PTR unique, so will there be adjustments after Season 9 is officially launched? I think this is inevitable.

Such a powerful character skill will break the balance and diversity of the game. Players will play Sorcerer to fight faster and get higher damage, so that their farming speed will be faster, and the richness of the game will also be reduced.

Therefore, the weakening of Sorcerer’s Hydra is an inevitable result, but does this also reveal a direction? Diablo 4 may have a similar mode, where characters have super high damage and can quickly fight bosses and farm maps, so that players can enjoy the fun of easily defeating enemies.

Sorcerer’s Hydra skill in this PTR is like a bold experiment, allowing players to briefly experience the state of near invincibility and the fun of crushing everything. Regardless of whether this invincible mode will eventually become a permanent play mode for players, this test provides valuable data and player feedback for other possible gameplay in the future.
