As you explore Elder Scrolls IV Oblivion Remastered, you’ll find that the main storyline Dagon Shrine quest is unique, requiring you to secretly infiltrate one of the enemy’s most important temples and find a very pitiful follower of Dagon.
The point you need to focus on in this main storyline is not to complete complex puzzles or requests, nor is it a very difficult battle, but you need to remove all gear before entering the official exploration and after completing Dagon Shrine quest, if you don’t retrieve your items, they will all disappear.
Therefore, to reduce the risks you face in the Dagon Shrine quest and reduce the loss of your equipment, this guide will show you how to successfully complete this quest and recover all your items in Oblivion Remastered.
Prerequisites
Dagon Shrine quest is the fourth main story quest you enter into the open world provided by TES IV Oblivion Remastered. Before you can start exploring, you need to complete Find the Heir, Weynon Priory, and The Path of Dawn before you can start Dagon Shrine quest.
Completion Guide
After this quest is activated, you will see a cave marked on the mini-map in the north of Cheydinhal. After you use the teleport to enter it, an NPC named Harrow will ask you to hand in all your gear and put on the robes specific to the current temple.
Please remember this person’s face and name at this time, because you will need to return to it again after completing the quest to retrieve all your items. After you have finished unloading and putting on the gear, you need to follow Harrow into the temple and listen to the mentor’s speech.
After the speech, the mentor will disappear. At this time, you need to climb to the top of the ritual stage and talk to Ruma to distract him, so that you can successfully steal the book in front of the ritual stage. When you pick up the book, your identity will be exposed and Ruma will start to attack you.
Before the battle, Ruma will ask you to sacrifice an innocent person in this room. If you don’t follow its instructions, everyone in this room will rebel and start attacking you. But if you follow its instructions and sacrifice a hostage, most of the people in the room will leave the temple one by one, and only three enemies will be left.
Although this instruction is a bit unethical, it is recommended that you sacrifice the hostage for the sake of your exploration, because it is much easier to deal with three enemies than seven mages.
In addition, since all the enemies in this battle are very mobile, you may need to add some flexibility to your attributes before entering this temple. Be careful not to upgrade your gear, because you can’t use it here.
Retrieving Items
After you defeat everyone in the room and take the book, it’s time to retrieve all the gear you just handed over. They will be on the body of Harrow you just defeated. If you forgot to pick up the items near Harrow while collecting the loot, you can return to the cave and enter the temple you just fought to search again before the task is completed.
Complete The Quest
After you take the book and retrieve all the gear, go to Ruma’s body to find the key to exit the cave. Then go upstairs and use the key to open an iron door, and follow the quest marker to exit the cave.
Also, please note that there will be many encounters on this exploration path, but since you already have powerful gear, it is not very difficult to successfully clear them. On a wall along this path, you will see a small handle, and you can interact with it to open this exit.
After that, please give the book you just took to Martin in a castle north of Bruma. At this time, your Dagon Shrine quest is successfully completed, and your achievement should also be unlocked. So the next step is to collect your rewards. I wish you a happy game!
