Dark and Darker is a PvPvE dungeon crawler where you and your party must explore dungeons, find loot, and battle opposing players seeking the same.
Dark and Darker Season 9 launches on April 28th. The deepest parts of Forgotten Castle have been twisted by unimaginable ancient evil forces. Inferno has been completely reborn, and the gates of hell have been opened.
This season will bring new perks and abilities to Rangers and Rogues, Squire Royale game mode has been redesigned, and New Ping System improves team communication.

For Rangers, the new Explosive Shot and Overdraw will add power to your arrows. Explosive Shot used by Ranger in the trailer looks more like a buff or a passive skill; it applies to all arrows for a limited time. The new Overdraw skill can instantly kill a wizard, somewhat like Windless Crossbow.
You can also expect new Ranger Perks. First Aid should allow you to provide emergency healing to teammates in distress, similar to a Priest's skill. Point-Blank Expert and Longshot Expert are self-explanatory. Point-Blank Expert likely increases melee damage the closer you are to the enemy, while Longshot Expert increases ranged damage the further away you are. There's currently no information on Windfletch Perk, but we can speculate it might increase Ranger's rate of fire.

In the trailer, Rogue shoots through a small window with a crossbow and then instantly teleports behind someone. This is likely Shadow Step, a new passive skill for rogues. I speculate that this skill's effect might be that as long as Rogue deals any damage - whether it's a stab, a thrown knife, or a crossbow - he can instantly teleport behind the enemy.
I wonder if this skill works with other projectiles like torches and drums. Unique items would certainly have corresponding attribute bonuses. Shadow Step could also allow Rogue to instantly teleport to the other side of a locked door.
The new skill, Dualstrike, seems to require two daggers to activate. Using Shadow Step followed by Dualstrike to finish off an enemy would be a good combo. Sneak Attack should be about sneaking up on an enemy and then activating this skill to deal more damage.
Veil of Shadows might be related to stealth or something similar. Trickster might be related to throwing knives, perhaps allowing you to throw darts faster. Lethal Mark might make enemies more vulnerable to attack and take more damage. I guess it might be similar to Weak Point and Thrust.
Creep has been updated several times. Previously, Creep skill worked for all players; everyone could Creep. Later, they changed it back, making Creep more stealthy. Therefore, we don't know the specific effects of Creep skill after this reset; we can only wait and see.
New Ping System
Dark and Darker now has a new ping system. When you're playing with teammates and they don't have voice communication, or you want to tell them more specifically what enemy you've seen, or what item you want your teammates to collect, you can use the ping system to indicate. They provide a complete set of communication methods, such as Enemy here, Need help, Follow me, Hold on, and Fall back.
However, some people feel this will disrupt the immersion, after all, Dark and Darker is a very realistic game. The ping icons are not very noticeable, though. Overall, it's a very good optimization.
Squire Royale
Whether you're a veteran player or a newcomer to the game, this mode will appeal to you. The new season of Squire Royale transforms into a tense and exciting battle royale experience, allowing you to acquire a large amount of loot. Moreover, you don't need to enter High Roller; the deeper you go, the more loot and Dark and Darker Gold you'll obtain, and the higher the rarity of the items.
Inferno Renewal
The deepest part of Forgotten Castle - Inferno - has been redesigned. In the new season, you can obtain artifacts in Inferno. A new boss has also been added to Inferno, which looks like Balrog from LORT. A blank platform module has also been added to the map, possibly the boss battle arena.
New mini-bosses have also been added to the known areas. Groot have been removed, and many small demons have been added. The monster density in Inferno is higher, making it look more dangerous. Therefore, I really hope that a new artifact will be added to Dark and Darker.
Many veteran and new players have said that the new content brought by Dark and Darker Season 9 is truly fantastic. I highly recommend that you return this time and experience the new Ranger and Thief on April 28th, delve into Hell, face Inferno, challenge new bosses, and take away rare artifacts. Season 9 has prepared plenty of surprises for you.
