Chernobylite 2 First Megapatch Update Notes - Gameplay, Performance Improvements & Roadmap

As we all know, Chernobylite 2 didn’t go smoothly when it first launched, but many Fallout fans are still paying attention to its direction because it brought a strong Fallout 3 atmosphere to many players.

Recently, the first Megapatch of Chernobylite 2: Exclusion Zone was finally launched, adding many community-requested features, new content, hundreds of fixes and adjustments, and at the same time, the developers also announced the roadmap. Don’t worry, we will tell you one by one, because I don’t want to waste your time. Let’s get started!

Chernobylite 2 First Megapatch Update Notes - Gameplay, Performance Improvements & Roadmap

Gameplay Update

First of all, all the placeholder voices in the game have been replaced with professional real-life voices, so there will be no more immersion-breaking dialogues. Of course, the premise is that you like voice acting.

Now, we can finally switch between first-person and third-person! That’s right, tablets can finally be used in third-person mode. This is the most anticipated thing since the game was released.

Additionally, the gear system in the game is now completely customizable by us! Previously, weapon slots were fixed, limiting the gear you could carry. But now it’s completely different! You can freely swap out primary weapons, secondary tools, and gadgets. So, if you want to pair an Essence Blaster with a Stealth Knife to skip the explosives entirely, now you can. This gives you more flexibility and depth.

It’s worth noting that they’ve also completely remade the first boss fight and the entire opening in this update. Yes, that boss fight was really bad before, and now you can completely skip the opening, which is a good thing for anyone who is restarting the game.

There are also new weapons and equipment added, and now Stealth attacks can finally use ranged weapons, so Stealth lovers, you’re getting more love here.

Performance Improvements

In terms of performance, the team has finally updated DLSS to version 4.0.0, XCSS to version 2.0, and optimized foliage, CPU processing, and shaders. In short, it means higher FPS and less stuttering.

Because the last patch fixed most of the issues reported by players, the game experience was already much better, so this update should make the experience smoother for everyone. If you were experiencing strange bugs or crashes before - especially around Chornobyl Ferris Wheel or Crystal Tower - don’t worry, now those problems are fixed! Over 100 bug fixes in Megapatch have been fully rolled out.

Roadmap

Now let’s talk about the roadmap. In the summer, we will welcome more than 10 new enemies, including human and mutant types, and new bosses like Hellfire Fox, as well as more than 10 new locations. In addition, new skills will be released one after another, hinting at more rich build diversity.

Fall will bring more story, new main quests, side content, new skills, and a secret game mechanic that they are not ready to reveal yet. Let’s look forward to a new wave of enemies, bosses, and new areas for you to explore.

Then in winter, it all leads to the full story ending. We will see the final boss, new story quests, and side quests. If you are waiting for version 1.0, stay tuned for the winter update. In the meantime, there will of course be small patches and bug fixes.

That’s all you need to know about the first Megapatch of Chernobylite 2! I hope this helps!
