Since its release, the digital trading card game PvP has had some issues, especially with deck setup and evolution speed balance.
However, Pokemon TCG Pocket is giving fans a pleasant surprise with Rare Candy item cards that will be released in Celestial Guardians expansion on April 30. Fans have to wait and see what the new item cards in Pokemon TCG Pocket A3 set will do to address these issues.
Celestial Guardians Expansion
If you’ve been paying attention, you’ve noticed that Celestial Guardians features many Pokemon from Pokemon Sun and Pokemon. The new digital supplement packs in this expansion include Legendary Pokemon Solgaleo and Lunala, respectively.
All players can use Wonder Pick feature to get Pokemon TCG Pocket Cards from this expansion, such as Litten and Rowlet. Additionally, starting May 1, players can show off their favorite cards with new accessories when the expansion launches.
Rare Candy Item Card
As a deck-building centerpiece, TCG Pocket has the potential to reshape PvP landscape. As demonstrated by the play of Pokemon Communication, this card can provide a much-needed alternative to search for alternatives, and then it will soon become a must-have card in competitive decks.
However, as developers have been limiting the release of item cards and being very wary of such content, players have taken notice and have begun to be cautious about the release of item cards.
Fans have also long suspected that the next big expansion pack may bring major changes and even introduce game-changing content. But the release of A3 expansion pack has proven that this idea is not true.
Players were surprised to find that upcoming Rare Candy item card will allow Basic Pokemon to skip Stage One evolutions and go directly to Stage Two. This is a significant improvement for a game that has long been criticized for its clunky evolution path.
Now, with the release date of Rare Candy item card approaching, fans are beginning to hope that Stage Two game will unlock huge potential and change the current one-sided landscape.
Rare Candy Is Expected To Shake Up The Game
Before Celestial Guardians is released, many fans in the game community were looking forward to Rare Candy item card. Although it has not yet been released, it has become the most popular card in TCG Pocket, probably because it has a very high popularity in physical Pokemon Trading Card Game.
Some veteran players said that Rare Candy item card is an evolution accelerator, and its appearance will make some low-expectation decks viable again, just like classic Charizard ex setup, which is a great thing for free game players.
From the current situation, because about 20% of PvP matches can be dominated by the same set of decks such as Giratina ex and Darkrai ex, the mainstream game segment of Pocket seems a bit unbalanced. The appearance of Rare Candy item card can well make up for the lack of diversity in competitive games.
However, some players still said that the simultaneous release of this card and Lunala ex will further enhance TCG Pocket’s Giratina ex decks. Lunala ex can transfer Psychic Energy from Bench to Active Spot, which may bring new changes to the current mainstream game environment.
But it is too early to say these at present. We have to wait until at least the end of April to see how Celestial Guardians Expansion really changes the status quo before we can draw conclusions.
