A month before the release of Elden Ring Nightreign, its latest PC system requirements have been released, including minimum and recommended requirements.
The game will be available on Xbox Series X/S, PS5, PS4, PC, and Xbox One on May 30. Next, we will detail the PC system requirements.
The official account of the game recently announced the minimum and recommended configurations of the PC version of the game on social media. It is worth mentioning that compared with other 3A masterpieces, the hardware requirements of Elden Ring Nightreign are relatively low.
And compared with Elden Ring, the system configuration requirements of this game have not increased much. It may also be because the system requirements of the first generation Elden Ring were already quite high at the time.
The minimum requirement of Elden Ring Nightreign is only 3GB of NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 graphics card, or 4GB of AMD Radeon RX 580 graphics card. This shows that even players without high-end graphics cards can still join the game, experience the new classes, defeat bosses to harvest Elden Ring Runes and other drops, and enjoy the fun of the game.
However, the more recommended graphics cards are 8GB GTX 1070 graphics cards and 8GB RX Vega 56 graphics cards. The storage space requirement for the PC version is only 30GB, which is the most surprising.
PC System Requirements Explained
The specific PC hardware requirements are as follows:
Minimum Configuration
- CPU: Intel Core i5 - 10600 / AMD Ryzen 5 5500
- RAM: 12GB
- GPU: AMD Radeon RX 580 4GB / Nvidia GeForce GTX 1060 3GB
- Storage space: 30GB
- Operating system: Windows 10
- DirectX: DX12 (feature level 12.0)
- Sound Card: Windows-compatible audio device
Recommended Configuration
- CPU: Intel Core i5 - 11500 / AMD Ryzen 5 5600
- RAM: 16GB
- GPU: Nvidia GeForce GTX 1070 8GB / AMD Radeon RX Vega 56 8GB
- Storage space: 30GB
- Operating system: Windows 11
- DirectX: DX12 (feature level 12.0)
- Sound Card: Windows-compatible audio device
It can be said that these configurations have lowered the threshold to start this game. For example, the minimum and recommended Nvidia GPUs were released in 2016, nine years ago, which is far lower than the requirements of new versions of other games.
GeForce 10 series includes GTX 1060 and 1070, and the brand has been updated five times so far, most recently this year with the 50 series. While some players may be limited by the 16GB recommended memory, Windows 10 and 11 operating systems and smaller file sizes will attract a large number of potential players.
Similarities And Differences Between Nightreign And Elden Ring PC Hardware Requirements
Nightreign does not have much higher hardware requirements than Elden Ring. In addition, the game developer also recommends the same RAM and GPU in another upcoming co-op soulslike game.
Although the roguelike elements have changed a lot, Nightreign is only half the size of Elden Ring, mainly because Limveld is much smaller than Lands Between.
The similarity of the two games’ PC system requirements also proves that Nightreign uses a lot of things from Elden Ring, such as textures, models, animations, sounds, etc.
The biggest difference between the two games in terms of PC configuration requirements is the processor. Nightreign recommends using an Intel Core i5 11500, which was launched in 2021, while Elden Ring recommends using an Intel i7-8700K, which was released in 2017.
Although the former recommends a newer processor, the latter actually recommends a processor with a higher base clock rate. So, in general, Nightreign is easier to run and more stable than its predecessor.
