Dune Awakening Looting Mk5 & Mk6 In Deep Desert: How To Grab All That Gear?

In Dune Awakening, Deep Desert is truly impressive. The loot here is almost always superior to Hagga Basin.

The best part is, you don’t have to search for specific Shipwrecks to get exclusive chests like in Hagga. Simply exploring the Deep Desert route will reveal a wealth of goodies, like the Mk5 & Mk6, making it a must-see for all players.Dune Awakening Looting Mk5 & Mk6 In Deep Desert: How To Grab All That Gear?

A word of warning: every area here is a PvP zone, but in my nearly 300 hours of play, I’ve only encountered other players once, so don’t panic.

The only minor issue is that sometimes, by the time you arrive, the chest has already been emptied. Other than that, it’s generally pretty straightforward; just stay alert.

Mk5 Guide

Let’s talk about Mk5 first. We can start in Area A1 of Deep Desert. From A1 all the way to A9, you’ll find 11 Shipwrecks, with six Buried Testing Stations hidden beneath them.

The loot here changes weekly, but regardless of the change, it’s a surefire way to get Aluminum and a ton of Dune Awakening Solari, helping you upgrade your gear and gain a competitive edge.

Farming Mk5 is even more special. In addition to the standard items, there’s a small chance of dropping other gear, such as Tarl Softstep Boots.

For those of you who don’t know, Tarl not only has Cutteray, but also boots and the Shaitan’s Tongue Flamerthrower.

Tarl Schematic can be found in Wreck of the Eumenes, Wreck of the Hyperbatas, Wreck of the Cycliadas, Wreck of the Dioedas, and Wreck of the Orsippus, with a 14.286% chance of dropping. It can be found at The Exchange.

When I run this route, I always fly from shipwreck to shipwreck in my trusty Scout Ornithopter with a booster, which is incredibly efficient.

As for Buried Testing Stations, it’s up to you; I tend to clear them all.

I’ve also found that Shipwrecks have a similar layout, whether in Hagga Basin or Deep Desert, making them incredibly easy to navigate once you get the hang of.

How To Get Mk6 Loot?

Most of Mk6 loot is pretty straightforward, with one being a bit tricky. I’ll quickly walk you through that first, ensuring others don’t get to scoop it up.

Farming Mk6 yields Mk6 Plastanium loot, making it the perfect preparation for Deep Desert.

For example, last week, a shipwreck yielded Shellburst Scatterguns. These are S-tier guns with a reload time of just one second—absolutely amazing.

But for now, let’s focus on how to get Mk6 loot. Yes, you have to be adventurous; good things don’t come easy.

Tips For Exploring Deep Desert Map

Buried Testing Stations change locations every week. How do we find them?

To pinpoint their exact locations, check the weekly updated Deep Desert Map. It clearly marks various locations, such as the large Spice Fields and all the shipwrecks.

Stay Alert

But last week’s testing stations were located near Rows E and D, and those areas were incredibly dangerous. They started out as PvE zones, but once you entered the facility, they immediately became PvP.

So, you have to be vigilant, and loot is first-come, first-served, with no sharing. I haven’t encountered other players snatching up loot yet, but if the last gun from Black Market drops here in the past few weeks, I’m sure things will get busy.

Defeat A Lot Of Enemies

In short, once you reach the final room of these labs, you’ll have to fight through waves of enemies, and they won’t let you go easily. But once you’ve mastered these, the loot in the next room will be yours.

In general, the two types of loot in Deep Desert each have their own strengths. Farming Mk5 consistently yields good items and can even yield rare gear, while farming Mk6, while risky, offers incredibly high rewards. Combined with the weekly map updates, loot-seeking players should definitely try this route; you might find some surprises!
