ARC Raiders Flashpoint: How to find Surge Coil Blueprint & master this new Meta Item?

ARC Raiders Flashpoint update added a new item, Surge Coil, which is perhaps the most unique item we've encountered so far, and many players are undoubtedly eager to obtain it. I can't wait to tell you about it.

This guide will show you how to obtain Surge Coil Blueprint and its function. It may be quite extensive, so please study it carefully.ARC Raiders Flashpoint: How to find Surge Coil Blueprint & master this new Meta Item

Blueprint Location

Surge Coil Blueprint is one of the three new Blueprints added to ARC Raiders in Flashpoint update, and it's the easiest to obtain.

You can find it by looting containers during Electromagnetic Storms map event. No specific event or container type is required; it can drop in any container. Just loot as many items as possible, and you have a high chance of getting it.

Players have reported finding Surge Coil on multiple maps and in multiple locations. In Dam Battlegrounds map, Testing Annex, Water Treatment Facility, and Hydroponic Domes have all been confirmed to drop blueprints. Blueprints have also been found in multiple loot areas on other maps, but the optimal drop location has not yet been determined.

Here are three tips for finding Coil Blueprint locations:

1. Loot everything during Electromagnetic storms. Lockers, drawers, cupboards, chests - open them all, don't miss anything. The more containers you open in each raid, the higher your chance of getting a blueprint.

2. Entering locked rooms grants double rewards. Flashpoint update increased loot drops in all locked rooms, with the increase proportional to key rarity.

3. Put it in Safe Pocket immediately. Like other blueprints, put it in Safe Pocket as soon as you see it. Electromagnetic storm raids can be very chaotic, and you certainly don't want a lone Rocketeer or other raider to steal your blueprint during your extraction.

4. Combine it with other blueprint farming objectives. Electromagnetic storms are excellent conditions for blueprint farming. While searching for Surge Coil Blueprint, you may also obtain other blueprints that drop under these conditions. Don't focus on just one; you can farm multiple blueprints simultaneously.

Craft

After extracting Surge Coil, you'll need an Explosives Station Level 3 and the following materials to craft it: 1 Electrical Component, 1 Hornet Driver, and 1 Sensor.

Its crafting cost is very low compared to other ARC Raiders Items, so you can easily stockpile it. It can stack up to 3, allowing you to craft any number of essential materials once you have ARC Raiders Surge Coil Blueprint. You don't need to search for it again unless your progress is reset with a new expedition.

Work

Surge Coil is a deployable device that periodically electrifies the surrounding area and briefly stuns mobs within its radius. It deals 6 damage per second. It stuns ARCs for 1 second and Raiders for 0.5 seconds.

Think of Surge Coil as a trap you set and forget about. Place it near doorways while looting rooms, and you'll immediately notice anything coming in. You can also place it near an Assassin's breach to buy yourself more time to loot supplies and avoid being affected by ARC wave. Finally, use it to block chokepoints when your squad is retreating.

Now that Shredders are everywhere on the map, this item is especially useful. These incredibly fast-moving ARC enemies will ambush you in confined spaces, and a well-placed Surge Coil can stun them long enough for you to react.

Surge Coils can stack up to 3, so you can carry several with you on raids without taking up too much space. This item may sound unassuming, but it saves you far more lives than you might imagine.

Damage

First, this item can potentially harm you. Because it's a deployable trap that can directly damage and stun you, there's one thing to consider: Surge Coil's actual radius is 10 meters. If you enter within that 10-meter radius, you'll be shocked and damaged; if not hit, the trap itself will remain in place.

Secondly, it doesn't require many bullets to destroy. It will stay there unless hit by a player, until it explodes after shocking the player a certain number of times. Interestingly, when you place it, it actually shocks itself as well. So you'll also be damaged, but only briefly stunned for a second, after which you can continue running.

Finally, it will self-destruct after exhausting all its damage. But if you're within its range and see it, you can shoot it or simply run over to disarm it, then we can pick it up, thus solving the problem.

However, I discovered something interesting: if you place two of these devices together, they will shock each other, but if an enemy walks in, they seem to shock the nearest object, essentially attacking the enemy simultaneously, resulting in considerable damage. This mechanic will be extremely useful in ARC Raiders PvP.

That concludes this guide on Surge Coil from ARC Raiders Flashpoint update. If you're interested in this item, feel free to explore further; there are many hidden gameplay features waiting to be discovered!
